Conference Prep: Final Touches on You!

Okay ladies. If you haven’t already scheduled your mani/pedis, haircuts/color and facial waxing, it’s time!! Yes, it’s important to look your best at these writer conferences. A well groomed author says you’re a serious author and for all the money you’re dropping at the conference, you better be serious!

And while you’re beautifying yourself, don’t forget to make sure all your conference clothing is dry cleaned and pressed! Remember to check the weather of the conference location and pack accordingly.

Make a list of all the things you need to pack, and check it twice. I remember at my first writers conference I forgot my hair gel. My hair looked like a frizzy mess, but I refused to let it get me down. I styled my hair the best I could and managed to get some manuscript request despite my curls-gone-wild hair. Still, if you plan ahead, you’ll be prepared and you won’t make the same mistake I did!

And don’t forget to pack your smile! You’re never fully dressed without it!
